Jewelers use trade fair as order days and as inspiration for many topics

In September, the fair for the jeweler industry, organized by M.I.C. aurum GmbH in Karlsruhe took place.

M.I.C. is a marketing and service company for watch and jewelry stores. They support the jewelers with favorable purchasing conditions. Furthermore, they offer jeweler service as well as information to their respective partners. That is why this fair is one of their service activities.

So, it was very exciting for me to be back in my „old“ industry again (I’m a goldsmith by profession – see here and in about us). The special thing about it was that this time I was able to do it from a completely new perspective and attitude.
Many manufacturers were present as were their customers, i.e., jewelers who took care of their orders for the Christmas business. Two very exciting days at the fair.

The exchange on soft skills was helpful

At my fair stand, we discussed the challenges that exist for jewelers and manufacturers. In contrast to the companies in other industries, there are usually only a few employees at the jewelers. However, the same topics emerge here as in industrial companies and others. And it almost seems as though the jewelers experience this process of cooperation in the same way that other retailers did before. It seems that the change of generations here is also taking big steps towards giving companies a chance to change.
Even though the daughters and sons also must bear a heavy burden and take on a lot of responsibility for the succession. Because this industry is also struggling with online business.

So, we were looking for ways and means to cope with these challenges in the future.

There were exciting discussions and interesting findings and I wish everyone a successful implementation of their topics!

  • What if the other person doesn’t understand me (son, daughter, employee, father, mother, manager, …)
  • How do I deal with the younger generation?
  • It’s not me, it’s the other one….
  • Our ladies always have something on their minds and want to talk about it

I look forward to further exciting discussions and offering assistance that I can give.
